Polarization, discord and violence create crisis situations and responses that threaten healthy communication and nurturing communities where people can thrive. The impact of traumatic stress on coping behaviors and emotional health has become more informed by research. In this dynamic session, participants will explore research findings and observe nontraditional techniques and coping interventions that diffuse crisis and traumatic responses and build resilience—specifically nonviolent communication, reflective listening and mindful awareness.

This workshop will focus on exploring and validating personal feelings about isolation, loneliness, inertia and frustration with the challenges of 2020. It will explore the twin emotions of MAD/SAD and how grief, loss and trauma affect our daily lives. This class will also help find attendees' exquisite moments in each day and offer ways to move forward with healthy lives.
