FSU Emeritus Alumni Society

Started in 1974,The Emeritus Alumni Society is a constituency organization of the Florida State University Alumni Association organized to encourage the continuing interest and participation of those alumni who have reached emeritus status, i.e., those who were graduated from the university fifty or more years ago.

Principal activities include an annual spring reunion gathering held in conjunction with that years 50 year reunion class during which occasion they are presented with Emeritus Medallions in a formal induction ceremony. The Excellence, Conradi, and Eyman Awards are presented for the year. A rewarding and fun weekend of friends, classmates, memories and service to our university.

During the year, various area "Luncheon" get together' are held around the state of Florida including Gainseville, Marianna, Crestview, Miami, Tallahassee and one in Waynesville, NC.

Our immediate Past President, Bridget Chandler, wrote last year: "my definition might appeal also. I think of it as a "club" with it's main purpose to learn all the new things going on at Florida State University, to renew old friendships, make new friends, tell old stories about dorm and sorority life, reminisces, and laugh---there is always so much laughter".
