The role of the Foundation is to raise funds to support the academic initiatives of the university, establishing scholarships and fellowships; enhancing academic programs; and creating professorships and eminent scholar chairs. As a result, the university has been able to attract promising young scholars, propel its academic status and appeal to the nation’s highly recognized educators.
Graduate Fellowships and Undergraduate Scholarships Fellowships and scholarships provide dedicated, deserving students with an education they might not otherwise receive because of a lack of public funding. The Foundation works with donors to establish fellowships and scholarships through private funding. For more information on fellowships and scholarships, contact your respective college or department at Florida State University.
If you are the recipient of a scholarship, a letter thanking the donor is a must. Tips for writing a thank you letter can help with the process.
The Student Foundation The Florida State University Student Foundation was formed in April 2010 with the purpose of fostering student leadership, strengthening relationships with alumni and friends of FSU and instilling in all students the spirit of philanthropy. Through the development and investment of an endowment, the FSU Student Foundation is able to allocate funds in support of student initiatives and events. Learn more about the FSU Student Foundation.
Senior Class Gift Contributions to the Senior Class Gift Fund are used to support the project the graduating class has identified as their gift to FSU. Previous senior gifts include the Westcott Plaza brick campaign, the refurbishment of the south gates, the fountain in Landis Green and the stained glass window in the Student Life Building.
PhoneCenter Employment The PhoneCenter employs nearly 70 students who work year-round providing information to the thousands of members of The Florida State University community while offering them an opportunity to support the university’s academic future. Read more
