With the confident walk of the eternal athlete, Fred Flowers (B.A. ’69, M.S. ’73) stepped away from the dugout and strode to the pitcher’s mound at Dick Howser Stadium to throw the opening pitch in the Seminoles’ first of three victories over the Miami Hurricanes. His appearance on April 20, a sunny Friday afternoon, was part of a week of celebration and commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the integration of Florida State University.Read more ...
