Alexander Johnstone
Washington, D.C.

Alexander "Lex" Johnstone is the founder and chief executive officer of The World Advisory Company, a marketing firm for small businesses in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area. Johnstone started the company in 2010 and has quickly grown it to become a highly influential organization.

A native Washingtonian, Johnstone chose FSU as his top pick among numerous colleges across the nation. "Once I visited the campus, I knew immediately it was the perfect setting for the quintessential college experience," he explained.

Johnstone graduated from FSU in 2008 with a bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary social science from the College of Social Sciences. Combining classes from a variety of departments, he structured his degree around his first business venture, an online magazine on international urban planning and development.

Throughout his time at FSU, Johnstone was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity and was highly active in intramural sports, Homecoming and Dance Marathon. During the summer of 2006, he studied abroad through FSU's International Program in London and met his wife Michelle, who also is an FSU alum.

Johnstone is incredibly excited to be a part of the Young Alumni Development Council and looks forward to inspiring others to give back and support the university.

Johnstone is the fourth-great grandson of FSU founder Francis Wayles Eppes.
