2013 Executive Board

The Executive Board is elected by SAA members in November each year. Board members serve a one-year term and have distinct roles and responsibilities that promote the mission of the organization.

 

Amanda McManaway

President

Amanda McManaway is a junior from Live Oak, Fla., majoring in biological sciences with minors in chemistry and biomedical physics. She previously served on the 2011 Executive Board as the Associate Director of Events and again in 2012 as the Director of Events. Amanda is a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority, the Honors Student Association, and Seminole Torchbearers. She works in the FSU Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry under Dr. Penny J. Gilmer and volunteers at the Robert K. Godfrey Herbarium on campus. Amanda is looking forward to working with the 2013 Executive Board and Leadership Council, and loves all of the traditions at FSU!

 

Sheila McLaughlin

Vice President

Sheila McLaughlin is a junior from Jupiter, Fla., majoring in Civil Engineering. This is Sheila’s third year on Leadership Council and second year serving on the Executive Board for SAA. Last year, she had the privilege of serving as the Associate Director of Membership. Sheila is also a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and serves as the Public Affairs Chair for the FSU chapter of Engineers Without Borders. Her favorite FSU tradition is singing the fight song with her 40,000 closest friends at football games.

 

Mary Beth Finch

Director of Events

Mary Beth Finch is a junior from Live Oak, Fla., majoring in Exercise Science. Before joining the 2013 Executive Board, Mary Beth served on the 2012 Leadership Council. When not planning upcoming events for SAA she can be found representing Chi Omega and PILLS Pre-pharmacy club. Mary’s favorite FSU tradition is the ring dipping ceremony.

 

Chelsea LaPlante

Associate Director of Events

Chelsea LaPlante is a sophomore from Jacksonville, Fla., majoring in International Affairs with a certificate in Law and Society and a certificate in Leadership. This is her first year on SAA Executive Board and she is excited to be a part of it! Chelsea’s other campus involvement includes serving on the Union Board for the Student Government Association, and Delta Zeta sorority. Chelsea’s favorite FSU tradition is the Tomahawk Chop because it symbolizes the strong spirit of the Seminole Nation that unifies us all on campus and off.

 

Cailin Mallory

Director of Homecoming Parade and Chief & Princess

Cailin Mallory is a sophomore from New Fairfield, Conn., pursuing a degree in Business Management with a minor
in Spanish. This will be her first year on the Executive Board, but she has been a part of Leadership Council since
her freshman year. Cailin is also involved with the Honors Program and Chi Omega. Her favorite FSU tradition is
without a doubt the Homecoming parade! Cailin thinks it is amazing to see how diverse and inspiring our student
body is and the parade captures this as well as the overwhelming Seminole pride.

 

Kevin Corp

Associate Director of Homecoming Parade and Chief & Princess

Kevin Corp is a sophomore from Orlando, Fla., and a double major in Finance and Economics. This is Kevin’s first
year serving on the SAA Executive Board. If you cannot find Kevin working on projects for Homecoming he is with
the FSU Swim Club and studying hard in the FSU Honors Program. His favorite FSU tradition is doing the chop at the football games!

 

Ricky Meinke

Director of Membership

Ricky Meinke is a junior from Tampa, Fla., and a double major in Political Science and International Affairs while
also pursuing a certificate in Leadership Studies. This is his first year serving on the SAA Executive Board but
Ricky was a member of the 2012 Leadership Council. He is an active Orientation Leader and a member of the
SOAR Board. Ricky’s favorite FSU tradition is Market Wednesday; a time on campus where the diversity of FSU
truly shines.

 

Jade Mclain

Associate Director of Membership

Jade Mclain is a junior from Coral Springs, Fla., majoring in Psychology. Before joining the SAA Executive Board,
she served on the 2012 Leadership Council. When Jade is not working with SAA she can be found representing the
Undergraduate Students Striving to Reach Instructional Diversity and Excellence (USSTRIDE) and The National
Society of Collegiate Scholars. Jade’s favorite FSU tradition would definitely have to be the lighting of the spear at
the beginning of every FSU home football game. She loves how excited the crowd gets and how loud the stadium
roars.

 

Bryson Clifton

Director of Recruitment

Bryson Clifton is a sophomore from Pensacola, Fla., majoring in Economics with a minor in Public Administration
and earning the Leadership certificate. This is his first year serving on the SAA Executive Board. Bryson is heavily
involved with Orientation Leaders and Dance Marathon. His favorite FSU tradition is the Osceola and Renegade
pageantry during home football games.

 

Chelsey Belt

Associate Director of Recruitment

Chelsey Belt is a sophomore from Tallahassee, Fla., majoring in Actuarial Science. This is Chelsey’s first year
serving on the SAA Executive Board. When she is not recruiting others to join SAA she can be found at Chi Omega
or serving on the Student Government Association’s Campus Recreation Board. Her favorite FSU tradition is seeing
Chief Osceola and Renegade spearing the football field at the beginning of each home game.

 

D’Juan Sampson

Director of Communications

D’Juan Sampson is a sophomore from Apopka, Fla., earning a double major in Political Science & International
Affairs. This is his first time on the Executive Board, but D’Juan has previously served on the SAA Leadership
Council. He is also involved in Christian Campus Fellowship and Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society. D’Juan’s favorite
tradition is hearing the Chiefs play the fight song.

 

Krystyna Collazo

Associate Director of Communications

Krystyna Collazo is a sophomore from Orlando, Fla., pursuing a double major in Information, Communication and
Technology and English (Editing, Writing, and Media). She is a member of Camp Kesem at FSU and is working
towards induction into the Garnet and Gold Scholar Society. Krystyna is very excited for her first year on the SAA
Executive Board. Her favorite FSU tradition is singing the War Chant at FSU football games.

 

Kelly Palmer

Secretary

Kelly Palmer is a junior, from Tampa, Fla., majoring in Biology and Psychology with a Business minor. This is
Kelly’s first year on the SAA Executive Board but she has served on the Leadership Council both in 2011 and 2012.
She is also a member of the Alpha Epsilon Delta, Pre-Health Honor Society, and Dance Marathon. Kelly loves all
FSU traditions, although her favorite is the lightening of the spear on the Unconquered statue before every home
football game.

 

Evan Nelson

Associate Secretary

Evan Nelson is a sophomore from Albany, Ga., majoring in Music and Theatre with a minor in Communications. This is Evan’s first year serving on the SAA Executive Board, although he has previously served on the Leadership
Council. He is also involved with the FSU University Ambassador program and the National Residence Hall
Honorary. Evan’s favorite FSU tradition is Chief Osceola and Renegade charging down the field before a football
game, bringing so much energy to the stadium.
